RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director, Merchandising will be responsible for:
•Identifying and managing strategic relationships with product suppliers;
•Sourcing products of appropriate quality at the best price;
•Managing all analysis and forecasting to ensure optimal procurement levels;
•Empowering buying teams to identify key trends and help translate those into differentiated and compelling product offerings;
•Overseeing make-up of product portfolio – including private label, branded, and celebrity-endorsed – that supports ShoeDazzle brand;
•Working cross-functionally with marketing, product management and operations;
•Understanding onsite product presentation, content, and features to maximize customer conversion;
•Developing excess inventory strategies to minimize aged inventory and losses.

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS & EXPERIENCE:
The ideal Director, Merchandising candidate has the following characteristics:
•Extensive experience in all areas of merchandising with at least three years experience in a merchandising role at an ecommerce company;
•Experience in both a high-growth, early stage environment and a larger, more mature business;
•Excellent analytical skills and ability to synthesize large amounts of data and information into concise recommendations and action for the company;
•Ability to effectively manage key partner relationships;
•Outstanding communication skills;
•Deep familiarity with web site technologies including product presentation, user interface, and site features;
•Self-sufficient, self-starter, as we are a small, but growing company.
