The Vice President of Account Management will be responsible for providing hands-on leadership, vision and direction to the account management team, which will enable company account managers to achieve their sales and business objectives. This role will blend business development with management of existing customer relationships by identifying opportunities to drive revenue and to sell into current and new broadband customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for reporting on partner revenue, progress toward sales forecasts, driving new sales opportunities, ensuring prompt resolution of business issues with partners, reviewing the architecture process and functional requirements necessary for our portals and presenting to clients on product architecture, design and operational aspects of company products. The ideal Vice President of Account Management will be proactive, a self-starter, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and sales-focused to help expand the account management team and revenue base.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead the account management team to develop sales strategies for new products and account initiatives.
• Communicate the company vision to the account management team and Synacor’s customers.
• Promote sales strategies to client and company leadership; gain access to key executives within the Synacor customer base in order to execute and sustain Synacor’s selling process over time.
• Responsible for up-selling and managing company partners; train existing account managers on sales techniques and ways to pitch new products to existing clients.
• Network and build relationships with company clients and their customers in order to better understand their needs.
• Direct the contract renewal process with the assistance of the account management team for existing clients.
• Engage with sales, marketing clients and prospects to understand industry- and company-specific business processes. Diagnose customer pain points and quantify client or prospects business impacts of problems for the sales & marketing team.
• Responsible for understanding, managing and responding to customer’s evolving/developing requirements and expectations around technology solutions.
• Lead creation of value proposition sales materials for proposed solutions, and present results to customer executives.
• Prepare and deliver presentations with ability to influence decision makers within Synacor and for current and prospective clients.
• Create technology designs to solve specific customer problems, starting from agreed requirements moving through conceptual and logical to physical designs; Understand the limits of products / technologies and identifying high level options to overcome in order to fulfill customer business need / fit with Strategy.
• Responsible for understanding and capturing the customer requirements and translating them into Synacor language, product-set, etc., and producing design documentation according to Synacor and account-specific standards.
• Responsible for coordinating with Product Management and other subject matter experts where additional product knowledge is required.
• Actively participate in cross functional meetings including Provide input in the development and implementation of client product and service enhancements.
• Other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need to bring to the table:
• Bachelors Degree in Business Management and/or Computer Science, MBA preferred
• At least 5 years of client-facing technical experience on software implementation/integration projects; strong preference for individuals with a background in consulting
• 3+ years of experience in computer science
• 3+ years of solutions selling/solutions consulting experience
• Exposure to multiple technical environments
• Willingness to travel 50-75% – travel will be in both North America and internationally
• Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus
• Understanding of the online digital media, cable (MSO) and telecommunications industry and ability to identify and influence key decision makers
• A high level of influencing capability, using a range of approaches
